I've had a love/hate relationship with plants. I have killed so many plants that I was somewhat nervous about bringing another one into the house, but I also loved the look of them so much that it was worth the few dollars to see if I could keep yet another plant alive.
And success! It's been a year and the plant is still living!
I love plants because in the middle of winter they are welcome sight from the snow that feels will never end. They clean the air and help bring life to your space.

I have found all my plants at Home Depot and Lowes. Home Depot has had the best prices but I always check at Lowes and sometimes am surprised by a little succulent or fern that jumps into my basket. :)
Some of the plants that we have around our home that are excellent air purifiers and even better - hard to kill - are:
- Aloe Vera (and it helps when you get a burn in the kitchen!)
- Spider Plant
- Zebra Haworthia
- Golden Pothos
- Snake Plant
- Wave Fern
My kids don't touch the plants, but be careful when bringing plants into your home because some of the ones listed can be poisonous if ingested.
I am not good at regularly watering the plants, but thankfully these ones, once I see that they are getting a bit droopy, after a little drink of water, they bounce right back!
I have found different containers at dollar store, IKEA and the thrift store. I have also started hanging a few plants in the corners of our home and love the look of a little green hanging from the ceiling.
Easy decorating and helps keep our home filled with clean air!
