Is there still a place for blogging?

I have been thinking this over for a while now - and it actually has been what has keeping from me from getting back into blogging sooner: Is there still a place for blogging?

Our attention spans are so short. If captions on Instagram and Facebook are longer than a few sentences, than we just skim past because we usually can't concentrate long enough to really focus on the words.

I'm sure if you look hard, you can find articles all about how we lack concentration these days. It's not just our kids who want everything to be quick little snippets.

Remember when we would have to wait for our internet to actually load? Sitting there waiting for our modem to make all the bleeps and beeps. Not to mention waiting for the pictures to load on the websites or from emails from friends. Now if takes two extra seconds to load, we are over it and close the browser or get annoyed and find something else to do.

I have been feeling for a while a need to slow down and capture attention spans again. We need more paper books and less Instagram captions. (And I love Instagram, so I'm not knocking it at all. I'm just thinking there needs to more of a balance between scrolling and actually reading a book)

Our time is important, I understand that. However, we aren't doing our minds any favours from jumping from information to information to information.

So. Is there still a place for blogging? I don't know. I am going to give it a try though. I am looking forward to taking the time to write out each post and share what I have been learning and things that I feel that I am gifted in.

The other day, I sat down and wrote down over three pages of blog post ideas. Ideas such as creating a home, decorating, simple hospitality, homeschooling, thrifting, small home living, simplicity, natural cleaning, essential oils, books, rhythms and routines and more.

I am looking forward to sharpening my attention span and brushing off my writing skills and filling this space with things that I have been learning in the past few years.

Come join me. I'm excited about these ideas that I am going to be sharing with you in the future. We all can learn from each other! What are you sharing with others?
