We almost didn't even visit our house 8 years ago when we were house hunting. The pictures were terrible and it just looked so dark and cluttered. My husband found the listing and encouraged me to give it a chance - just to look and see what it was like.

It's so beautiful here in the summer.
We walked onto an old, falling down porch and into a large entrance room that was painted deep blue. Guys, I love blue. I decorate with blue tones now. But this blue was whoa. Too much.

Then I turned to my right and saw the stairway. I looked past the blue walls and looked at the curved stairway and the beautiful stairs. Maybe this house isn't so bad, I thought.

As we walked through the rest of the house, I began to see it's potential. Sometimes you have to look past paint colours and furniture setups, and ugly wallpapered kitchen backsplash to see what the home could be. A lot of times, it's a simple switch, like a coat of paint. Other times, walls need to come down and it needs to be a complete overhaul. Thankfully, this little house just needed a little bit of TLC!

Over the years, our little home has gone through a lot of changes; paint changes, furniture layouts, decorating styles, room setups. It doesn't stay the same way for long! I have been constantly switching things up to make it work for our family and I have enjoyed doing so.

We came into this house with no kids and a dog. We didn't know when we were going to have kids, but were praying that God would bless us soon. Now we are leaving with four, beautiful boys (no dog) and couldn't have even imagined what God had in store for us when we signed the papers to buy this house. We were definitely not planning for four children to live here though!

So, the time has come where our little home just isn't working for us anymore. Our boys are growing and becoming more active as the days go on. We need room for them to spread out and have space to move and grow.

We have big dreams about our future and how we want to use our next home, but that will be for another time to share those dreams.
So until then, we will be renting a home for a year and then see what the next step is after the year is done.
I am looking forward to this next season that we are going into and SO incredibly grateful for these past years in this little home of ours.
